Origin Story

ASOPCE, Guatemala

Founded in 2015, ASOPCE (Association of Specialty Coffee Producers of Huehuetenango) was created to unify producers from Huehuetenango and neighboring San Marcos, connecting them to international markets at fair prices. Today, the association represents roughly 450 smallholder producers, most farming plots averaging 1.5 hectares between 1,400 and 2,050 meters. Each family manages their own wet milling and patio drying to exacting quality standards. The cooperative provides technical assistance, market access, and credit to support long-term livelihoods. Women represent approximately 30% of membership, owning and managing their own production units.
